ODCOSS Quarterly Connect Session – April 2026

We are excited to invite our community to the upcoming ODCOSS Quarterly Connect Session, taking place on 9 April 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm at the Royal Oak Seventh-day Adventist Church, 48 Mount Smart Road.

This session marks our first gathering of the year and provides a valuable opportunity for community groups, organisations, and local stakeholders to come together, share their work, and strengthen connections across the Onehunga and wider Maungakiekie-Tāmaki community.

🌱 What to Expect

We have a wonderful line-up of speakers and organisations who will be sharing insights into their work and the impact they are making in the community:

  • Citizens’ Advice Bureau (CAB) – Learn about the important support they provide in helping individuals navigate everyday challenges and access essential services.
  • Men’s Shed Initiative – Discover how this growing national movement is creating inclusive community spaces where people can connect, socialize, and work on practical projects such as woodworking and metalwork. Plans are underway to establish a local presence in the Onehunga/Panmure/Oranga area.
  • Elevate Christian Disability Trust – Hear about the inspiring work they do in supporting people with disabilities to live valued and connected lives within their communities.

📍 Special Venue Highlight

This session will be held at the Royal Oak Seventh-day Adventist Church, offering attendees a chance to explore the venue and learn about the fantastic community initiatives they run. These include free English language classes and community meals, which provide valuable support and connection opportunities for local residents.

🤝 Connect, Share, and Collaborate

Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for attendees to:

  • Share updates about their own organisations and initiatives
  • Connect with other community groups and stakeholders
  • Build meaningful partnerships and collaborations

The session will conclude with informal networking over tea, coffee and light snacks.
